The writing is fine and I actually liked the idea, as each new leader or celebrity had me scurrying to Wiki their biographies. For some reason, I didn’t find it quite as appealing as “Samba,” perhaps because so much of the novel takes place outside Brazil.

Fernando Jorge rated it really liked it Jan 20, The comedy begins when he is one a dozen assassins trying to take out Archduke Ferdinand in Working for Al at the time of Al federal tax difficulties, he managed to bribe the wrong jury, sending Capone to jail and Dmitri fleeing for his life. He’s frustrating esgaanadas boring to read, the Gary Stu of assassins, which is a phrase I never thought I’d have cause to say. He is not a genius author, but he shows that with effort we can do a good work even without talent.

As esganasas goes on there’s also hints of a Panglossian figure sadly stuck on a dream that’s never going to come true and giving up everything good in life for it, as well as a subtle commentary on the power of the unremembered and nameless to impact history.
Esganafas book is supposed to be a, but it just reads like a Looney Tunes cartoon. Still a fun read.

Beautifully written, esganadss book is a history lesson with real events and real people, rewritten to tell the story of a confused romantic anarchist, with death on his mind, but which can never find its way to his clumsy twelve-fingered hands. An enjoyable little adventure that peters out a tad towards the end. Dimitri is born with twelve fingers.

Thank you Ronny for recommending this! Nasceu em 16 de janeiro deno Rio de Janeiro. As quasi-historical fiction, it’s fun stuff especially delicious is a homicidal dwarf who pursues Dmitiri throughout the bookand Soares does a wonderful job weaving his earnest protagonist into history.

But there are plenty more chances for him to spoil the fun.
