They are telling their story as one of a series of imposed exercises, recording events in their notebook. Kristof is a Hungarian writer who lives in Switzerland and writes in French.

It depicts two young twin brothers raised by their grandmother in ,ristof east european country at the end of a war WWII and how they manage to learn and live through horrible events. Such a deceptively simple little novel. The storyline, based on the bond between twins, was amazing.
